Friends of Parks and FUJIFILM Team Up at Kensico Dam

Seth Mandelbaum, a partner with McCullough, Goldberger & Staudt, was on hand when FUJIFILM Holdings America Corporation presented Friends of Westchester County Parks with a $7,500 check in honor of Volunteer Day at Kensico Dam in Valhalla.

During the event, staff members of FUJIFILM cleaned and polished the “Circle of Remembrance” that rings The Rising, Westchester County’s September 11th Memorial.

This volunteer effort was done to prepare for the annual memorial ceremony on September 11. The “Circle of Remembrance” includes the group of granite blocks that have the names of Westchester County residents who perished in the 9/11 attacks. In addition to cleaning and polishing the “Circle of Remembrance,” Fujifilm staff members mulched and cleaned other areas of the park.

The company also presented a check to Friends for $7,500 to support Kensico Dam Plaza programs.

In his role as vice chairman of the Board for the Friends of Westchester County Parks, Mandelbaum said Kensico was a flagship of the county parks system and that it “provides a setting for a wide variety of activities that many of our residents enjoy.”

He went on thank FUJIFILM  for helping keep Kensico Dam Plaza a beautiful place for the community.
